What Gabriela Rivas Can Do

Greetings. I have realized that I haven't taken the time to put into words the marketing services I can offer as a freelancer. Sure, I've put in the time and effort to select specific files out of many folders in my computer to display my artistic, creative graphically talents. But I am so much more than just your every day freelance artist. I am also on the path of becoming a great marketer (or is it marketeer?).

I am my own brand. I am Gabriela Rivas and many of you know I am a creative professional. However, not many of you know I am broadening my skills so that I may be successful in a variety of marketing fields. I was first introduced to marketing in 2011 when I interned at my university. That's when marketing was really beginning to progress. It was transitioning from just being a network where posting content and facts was key to interacting with clients and other business professionals. To see how much it has revolutionized since 2011 to the present date is truly an amazing experience be a part of (not to mention overwhelming at times).

But what does this have to do with me? Well, I am currently in progress of becoming certified in Inbound Marketing by HubSpot Academy. I am familiar with inbound marketing, in fact I have been doing it for as long as I have been in the game but I wasn't familiar with the exact terminology until I began my HubSpot training. It's been very rewarding to brush up on techniques I have learned on the journey of my professional career. I enjoy it.

Anyways. I am here to write about what I can do, not just my journey. I have experience in creating marketing campaigns or being a part of an already existing campaign that was implemented on various social platforms. Presently I have been educating myself on, not just marketing trends already laid out for 2016, but other ways a business, or a professional (like myself), can do to really bring attention to what it is they do and how others could benefit from it. I know what it means to connect with other professionals and target audiences but that means nothing if I am unable to communicate with them as an individual to another individual not just a brand. In my recent discoveries I have learned that people want to talk to other people not just a brand because a brand isn't human, but a person, who works at that brand, is.

Now how can I use what I presently know to help you be the best that you can be? Well, like I said, I have familiar with the trends and know that the more present you are with your target audiences and the more original content you put out really increases traffic to your brand. Still, I am not going to go into details what my strategy would be on this blog because 1) you might be inclined to use my ideas without meeting with me first, and 2) your company/brand is unique and what one strategy worked for another might not work for you. It is important to research your brand and to research your audience. I have done this in the past where I have put myself in my target audiences shoes to really understand what it was they wanted to see/read. They didn't want content that seemed robotic they wanted a personal touch to it. The target audience wanted to know how the brand can help them. I have done this. I have done the research to do create outlines that turn into plans that eventually a whole team is trained to familiarize themselves with because it's not just the marketer's task to put strategies into action but have the whole team become a part of that strategy and contribute where they can.

I am someone who knows we all have specialities but we also have skills where we can wear more than one hat. I have always been a creative individual and I love doing layout design but I am also someone who can learn new skills quickly. Especially if they are skills that relate to what I do best. Being a creative person doesn't mean I should limit myself to one speciality (but hey! if I'm good at designing, I shouldn't not promote that either). Being a creative presently is really rewarding because you can create not just designs or layouts or materials that promote your brand, but when you sit down with your company/brand and communicate with your team about what it is they want to see their company gear towards that can change everything and help one head towards the road of successfully marketing their brand.

To conclude this part one of an unknown number of "What Gabriela Can Do" series, I want to say that being a marketer, along with being a creative, is big job to do but a job I enjoy doing because of the connections you make and the lives you change by being present with your audience and really getting the brand out there. My brand is that I am a creative but I am also someone who wants to connect with others on a professional level (and personal) because I know what it means to be a person on the other side of the screen and that's how I build better relationships with those I do work with.

Thank you.
